Hello there. I am new here

AKA: Who is this Gil Cabrera guy anyway...
For a long time I would travel. Some of it as purposeful vacations but mostly for work. In these travels I would find myself in situations that would tend to be unique and...well...unexpected.
I would think this happens to everybody but after some discussions with others they would recount their excursions as boring or unfulfilling. Some even go as far as admitting never leaving their hotel! Unbelievable!
This coupled with my unique storytelling I would find myself the center of conversation in many gatherings. Admittedly, sometimes I would instigate the topics that eventually led to one of my many fantastic tales of survival, chance encounters or just of being in the wrong place at the right time.
You should write a book, they would say.
Nah. But maybe...
So I take to Facebook to write quick blurbs of past tales. Leading to posting current excursions. I did this to see how well they are taken, would anyone be interested. But mostly I do it to refine my narrative. I tend to run on with sentences. And worst jump about with the assumption that the reader is fully aware of my train of thought. To write like that will be a disservice for all interested.
Now with several posts received with hearty likes and approving comments I feel I am ready to move on to the next step. Blogging a book. This book herein is a rough draft. A work in progress. You might notice editing going on as newer blogs will appear. In the long run the book proposed for a six week period in Alaska will be posted herein.
Enjoy, subscribe to the RSS, comment please with criticism if so inclined but please be forgiving for it is a work in progress. In the long run I am trying to produce a final product you would find entertaining.
Thanks so much for your attention.
